Third Nature Recordings

Third Nature Recordings was a co-operative record label - a year long R&D project investigating alternative ownership and economic models for record labels. Through collaboration with other artists based in South Wales, existing label structures were critiqued and reimagined by experimenting with resource sharing, time-banking, and democratic decision-making.

Over the course of the year, five releases were produced and distributed, Third Nature was featured in a Beacons Cymru series about indpendepent record labels in Wales, and learning from the project was consolidated into a guide which was later adapted to feature in Metalabel’s online ‘Collaboration Cookbook’.
